A proposed design improvement for the church altar at HKBP Church, Cinere.

This concept enhances the altar with a modern yet reverent feel. New acoustic wall panels on the back and sides improve sound and add warmth, while a herringbone-patterned center panel creates visual depth. A glowing, backlit floating wooden cross becomes the focal point, framed by subtle LED light strips (neon flex) that highlight the altar's form. Below, black marble tile (120x120 cm) grounds the space with elegance.

Materials and finishes: WPC panel with acoustic padding, herringbone WPC acoustic wood panel, backlit blue onyx stone backing, Batak ethnic wood carving detailing, mural painting, and white marble stone wall with indirect LED strip lighting.

Together, these elements integrate seamlessly with the existing interior, creating a calm, sacred atmosphere for the congregation.
